Description
"Montpelier", erected by
James and Dolly Madison.
On my seventh trip to
lovely Virginia I paid this
notable home my first
visit. It is off the
"beaten path" a little-
enuf that I had not gone
out of the way to see it.
All about that section are
typical southern mansions
Now owned mostly by the
countrys rich folk who
have restored them to their
original fine state.
Jefferson and Monroe homes
were not so very many miles
distant, near Charlottsville.
April 29-1933
