<text>Here we camped the night

of April 23. We could look

across to the town of Topock,

Arizona, but the Honorable

Governor said "no crossee"

to California motorists.

An enjoyable ride from

Needles to the bridge.

We saw Mohave Indian

settlements. Saw many

Octillo bushes growing and

in full bloom, - also

trees with beautiful

yellow blossoms, the

Palo Verde. Arrived at this

spot about noon. A big man

with a gun (in holster) met us

saying do you wish to cross?

Then I told him how I had

consented to the house-car

if we could motor via Santa Fe

said "no motorists from Calif.
