Description

"Down by the River

side", the rumbling,

tumbling stream that

makes the "Cataract of

Lodore" seem tame and

commonplace.

From its muddy waters

no drowning person

is ever rescued. The

body fills with the

sand and soil and

sinks.

The River is a mile and

a half beyond Hermit

Camp. The trail runs

beside Hermit Creek

most of the way down from

here.
