Description
May 5 we drove from Laramie
Wyoming to Estes Park, Colo.
via Fort Collins, Cal. #28
A wonderfully scenic trip all
the way from Laramie.
First long grade up and I saw
treeless hills with the wind
blowing a gale, soon coming
in view of great snow capped
peaks in Colorado; topmost of them
all being Longs Peak. Mts and
little valleys and ranches, giving
place to larger ranches and
wide views, after we'd crossed the
mts and gotten to the plains
country. After so much treeless
stretches Colo. ranch lands certainly
looked good to us, and that part of
the Centennial State you first
see after the mts is among the
states richest agricfultural section.
Ft Collins, Loveland, Longmont
etc are fine towns with wide
streets, plenty of shade trees and
splendid homes.
We cooked dinner this day
in the street in Fort Collins,
which, by-the-way is a fine
little western city
