for five miles up

La Canada -(pronunced

La Cyn-yada) Valley CM

other side of bridge -

A beautiful scene

in every direction from

this point.

Pasadena Bridge -

on Colorado St - over

Arroyo Seco -

A million dollar

structure.

It is at the western

edge of Pasadena -

toward Los Angeles -

After crossing Mesquite

Dry Lake, ^ [illegible] we began going

upgrade with a great mt scene

ahead. [line drawing] with

a baby peak in between two

sloping walls, which appeared

to form no opening for a roadway.

But we had learned…

A few miles north of

St George, in the very

southwestern corner of Utah,

we ran across this outfit

of horses, wagons and men who

looked like cowboys. They

had hauled their loads of

wool to the nearest

railroad fifty-four…

In White Park

Riverside, California there

is an enclosure devoted

solely to many species of

cacti some of them

standing 15 to 18 ft high, to

the tiniest ones. One looks

like a monkey - long fuzzy

hair covering the entire…

Here we camped the night

of April 23. We could look

across to the town of Topock,

Arizona, but the Honorable

Governor said "no crossee"

to California motorists.

An enjoyable ride from

Needles to the bridge.

We saw Mohave…

On Ridge Road - the route

to Bakersfield and San Francisco

Calif. A broad view that

completely buggared my power

of description, to the amusement

of Mr Hatchard.
